Why the very long exposure photos with details so great?
When I see a picture (usually a landscape or cityscape, ie, not the people in it) that has amazing richness of color, tone, details, etc, always seems a very long exposure, since a couple of seconds to a minute, and I'll assume that was done with the help of a tripod. Is there a particular reason why the long-exposure photos get so rich in images, and there is some type of scene - is based on lighting, color, time of day, etc, it works better than others?
Correct exposure, time of day and a tripod certainly help in other ways the exposure time is not as important as that is the correct one for a given situation. Usually about half a day is best avoided as early and late light is more interesting and can add to the atmosphere of a scene. There are really no fixed rules, as it depends on the course and conditions at the time.
